Here’s what you need to know about what to wear at the stables in the winter! Thank you to Dakino who gave me this idea 🙂
Jackets: When I ride I usually wear a light sweater or my pony club jacket. My pony club jacket doesn’t have a hood, and it is water proof on the outside. Inside, there is a fuzzy material. I wear this jacket when it is very cold or rainy. I wear my pony club crew neck sweater when it is just chilly outside. I DO NOT recommend wearing a hooded jacket when riding. A girl I know was bucked of her horse when wearing a hoodie, and her horse dragged her by her hood, which was extremely dangerous. I recommend wearing a crew neck sweater, or any other type of jacket without a hood. Make sure the jacket you decide do wear isn’t very baggy, and fits you properly.
Breeches: In the winter, I recommend wearing a thicker pair of breeches to keep your legs warm. There are really no special type of breeches make for cold weather, I just wear thicker breeches.
Boots/Socks: For boots I just wear my normal paddock boots or tall boots year round, but I would recommend to wear tall, thick socks. I wouldn’t recommend zocks, because they are very thin, but I do recommend them for summer.
Shirts: I usually wear an old long sleeve shirt in the winter under my sweater or jacket, or I wear my pony club shirt, which is collared. I recommend collared shirts, because they look nice and clean. For more casual riding, I would recommend a long sleeve shirt.
Gloves: I just wear my riding gloves because they keep my hands warm.
I hope this post helped you!
I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW LEASE BECAUSE BUSTER HAS SOME GROUND PROBLEMS. CHRISTINA FOUND A NEW HORSE FOR ME NAMED ABBY, AND SHE IS GOING TO SCHEDULE A DAY WHERE I CAN TRY HER OUT. RIGHT NOW, I AM JUST TAKING LESSONS ON BUSTER AND CHRISTINA IS GETTING HIM READY FOR ME.
